Inky: A Sloppy Command Line for the Web

1K views · 18 years ago · demo · intermediate · dated

A demo of Inky, a research prototype from MIT that gives the web a command line which accepts loose, abbreviated commands and responds with rich visual feedback. It was presented as a UIST 2008 research project.

HN people point to it when asking for command-line usability research and as a relative of Mozilla Ubiquity.

You may want to look at Inky -- it's not traditional console/text, but rather taking some of that feel into a "command-line for the web with rich visual feedback: Inky: A Sloppy Command Line for the Web ▶ this video
