I'm Re-Imagining the Command Line Interpreter

172K views · 3 years ago · demo · intermediate · evergreen

James (DrMiaow) shows his attempt to rethink the command line interpreter, a new design for how a shell and terminal interface behave. The video walks through the ideas and demonstrates the prototype.

Submitted five times in 2023 as a serious rethink of the shell, and later linked by a developer who picked up the terminal's synchronized output mode from it.

Nice! I had no idea about "Synchronized output" mode. I'm adding that to my CLI project. ▶ this video
