Earthships - America's Off-Grid Desert Community

A video tour of the Earthship community in the New Mexico desert, where off-grid homes are built from repurposed materials such as tires. It shows how the houses are meant to supply their own heat, water and food.

HN submits it as an example of off-grid, self-sustaining home design, and cites it when off-grid or low-energy building comes up.
