This city concept breaks architecture (THE LINE)

5.4M views · 4 years ago · essay · dated

An architect on the DamiLee channel looks at The Line, the proposed linear megacity in Saudi Arabia, and explains why she thinks the concept fails as architecture and city planning. It is a skeptical critique of the design.

HN points to it as a sober, reasonable architect's analysis of The Line, one that makes sense even to people who are not architects.

“quite a sober and reasonable analysis from an architect”

First I heard about “The Line” was about a month ago in this rather skeptical breakdown: ▶ this video I’m not an architect but her points make sense to me. Seems like equal parts clueless Saudi billionaires and willing grifters.
