A video of Yusuke Endoh's winning entry to the 2012 International Obfuscated C Code Contest: a tiny C program that turns its own source text into a running fluid simulation rendered in ASCII. The source file shown at the start is the program, and it can be fed to itself as input.

HN keeps pointing to it as the most astonishing piece of code-as-art, a full fluid sim in a few lines of obfuscated C.

My favorite 2D liquid simulator is this IOCCC2012 submission [1]... simply astonishing. That is the source file shown at the beginning of the video... it compiles without warnings, runs a full blown fluid dynamics sim with surface tension and everything, can take itself as its own input... truly a work of art.
