Adobe MAX 2011 - Photoshop Image Deblurring sneak

1.8M views · 15 years ago · demo · dated

A sneak peek from Adobe MAX 2011 showing a Photoshop prototype that removes motion blur from photos. The audience reacts with astonishment as a blurry image is made readable.

HN remembers it as a jaw-dropping demo, and reaches for it whenever image deblurring, restoration or upscaling comes up.

The audience reaction was great. It reminds me of a similar audience reaction in this video of motion kernel de-blurring in Adobe Photoshop from 2011 (at about 1:17 in the video) ▶ this video Audience: "No way!" and "That's impossible!" and "How did it do that?"

The low resolution to high resolution image synthesis reminds me of the unblur tool that Adobe demoed during Adobe MAX in 2011. Here is the relevant clip if you're interested ▶ this video

Very impressive. It reminded me of a demo from Adobe at MAX 2011 that showed promising results; it was more focused on eliminating defects from real images to produce a more aesthetic result. ▶ this video
