Motorcar Compositor Demo 1

A demo by Forrest Reiling of Motorcar, a 3D compositor built on Wayland. It shows application windows placed in a virtual space and used with VR headset and motion controllers.

HN people cite it as a concrete working demo of the old idea of a 3D window manager, and as proof of how flexible Wayland is.

“Motorcar is a cool demo of this”

Motorcar is a cool demo of this: ▶ this video I think we may actually be there with the Vive Pro, but that's around $1000 for the HMD + tracking gear alone, and I can imagine that using a keyboard isn't going to be easy, even for touch typists.
