BSidesLV 2013 3 2 7 Sixteen Colors Archiving the Evolution of ANSI and ASCII Art Doug Moore Bren

A BSides Las Vegas 2013 talk on Sixteen Colors, an archive of ANSI and ASCII art from the BBS era. It tells the history of the art scene and how the work was made and preserved.

HN people recommend it as a good look at the 90s ANSI scene, usually in threads about BBS art archives and weird technical scenes.

“a cool talk about the evolution of NFO and ascii (color) art scene and processes, I recommend watching”

link is another great archive for ANSi art. The art scene in the mid 90s was an interesting, vibrant, microcosm, moving from BBS's to IRC over the course of a few years. ▶ this video and the longer link are a good watches if youre interested.
